Today is are last day of the trip. Many of the students woke up at 5:00am to collect sand dollars at the beach. I was certainly not one of the students. I was drained from the day at the beach.  So I decided to sleep in a bit longer. Today was a busy day. We had to clean our tents. Check in sleeping bags, water pouches, back packs and sleeping mats. We also a lot of cleaning and  inventory on food items.
we packed up and started our 5 hour drive back home.
This was one of the longest drives we did not this trip. During this time, I was able to reflect on the trip as a whole.
I am grateful for the learning opportunity I was given on this trip. The knowledge I have gained on this trip I am able to share with the university and community members back home. I thought I really knew what was going in the world, but it wasn't until I went on this trip where I was able to really see the issues first hand. Reflecting on this trip made me realized that I might have declared the wrong major. I really wish that I could have known what Environment studies has to offer at the beginning of my college career.

Day 12

Day 12 7/17/2018   We had our day planned out at the Klamath Tribes itinerary facility where we met Alex Gonyaw. Alex is an environmental science from Vermont but has been living in Oregon for quite some time. We talked about how dams affect ecosystems and endemic species. We also got to walk to a Link River trial to a dam site. The river here did not smell good. During this time, we also had a lunch break. We had sandwiches again... We headed back to our campsite during this time a group was making stew for dinner. We had a eldery named jeff. He spoke to us about many of the challenges that his own tribe faces. He also spoke about how he has fought to have dam taken down. By 2020 they will successfully have taken down 4 dams. He and three of local tribes had been fighting since 1993. He never gave him and I really admire him for that. It really shows what you can if you stay consistent.

Day 2

Day 2 07/07/2019                                                                                          I woke up at 5:00am, but fell back asleep. Dr. Black came and knocked on everyone’s tents at about 6:30am. I woke up changed, brushed my teeth and got ready for breakfast. We had English muffins, scrambled eggs, bacon and some hot cocoa by the camp fire. We also prepared our own lunch- sandwiches. (We will be having these for two weeks every day for lunch- yay.) I may not be having any sandwiches for the rest of year after this. It was a great morning. My team had to wash the dishes, let’s just say that it was bad. After we got done with breakfast we started to get into groups, we had our first tasks. We were going to set up cameras and set bate (tuna/left over bacon) to see if we can catch any wild life on camera. We left our camp site for about an hour or so. Day 11

Day 11 7/16/2019 We woke up really early and started to pack up our tents. Before we left our campsite we picked up our tents. Before we left my team the Red Raccoons picked up are trail cams. We checked them when we got back to our camp site we actually caught a lot of deer and turkey vultures! It was so neat to see to footage.   Head headed out about 8:30am. We drove about a few us to visit Wineman Forest & Crater Lake. Crater Lake was such a beautiful spot to visit. It is the deepest lake in the United States! You can see the volcano in the middle of the lake. It looked like a small island. The water surrounding the volcano was really blue. We also did a small hike it was about 3.5 miles going up and coming back down. The hike was called the Watchman Lookout.   Going up this hike gave you an ever better view of Crater Lake.
